The trail begins with a gentle ascent through lush green pastures and woodlands. As you climb, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding fells and valleys. At around the 3 km (1.9 miles) mark, you’ll reach Grisedale Tarn, a serene mountain lake nestled between the peaks of Fairfield and Dollywaggon Pike. The tarn itself is steeped in local legend, said to be the resting place of the crown of Dunmail, the last king of Cumbria.

The summit of Seat Sandal, at an elevation of 736 meters (2,415 feet), offers breathtaking vistas of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
