beautiful hiketrip! I hiked with my friend from outghard to westport.m in 5days. A sea of grassy plains. Regularly we came across houses to ask for water although we mainly walked in the uninhabited world. Remember to dress waterproof because you have to be very lucky not to see any rain. the number of km per day was also doable.

Easy to follow - Interesting trail with a combination of forestry tracks, open moorland path and country lanes. Great views over to Dublin City, Dublin Bay and Wicklow mountains. Worst bit was the last km or so on quite a busy road, felt a little unsafe with no path.

An enjoyable trail with wonderful views across Carlingford Loch. Places to camp in Ravenside Forest, but it's possible to do the trail with indoor accommodation, which is more plentiful in Carlingford. A lot of road walking with some very boggy parts across hills immediately behind Carlingford. Plentiful water sources so bring your water filter. Very doable on a weekend.

Went anti clockwise - inclines all the way, tough going but great for the push. Descended the spinc to view the lakes: you could also take the left after the miners way section (just before spinc walk) to lengthen the route around the far side of the lakes.
