#### Rossett Pike At approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) into the hike, you'll reach Rossett Pike, standing at 651 meters (2,136 feet). This peak provides panoramic views of the surrounding fells and valleys. It's a great spot for a short break and some photography.
#### Angle Tarn Continuing from Rossett Pike, the trail descends slightly before leading you to Angle Tarn, around 6 km (3.7 miles) into the hike. This serene tarn is nestled in a glacial corrie and is a perfect spot for a picnic. The area around Angle Tarn is rich in flora, including heather and bilberry, which bloom beautifully in the summer months.
#### Stake Pass After leaving Angle Tarn, the trail ascends again towards Stake Pass. This section is about 2 km (1.2 miles) long and involves a moderate climb. Stake Pass is historically significant as it was once a packhorse route used for transporting goods between the valleys. The pass offers sweeping views of the Langstrath Valley and the distant peaks of the Lake District.
#### Descent and Return From Stake Pass, the trail begins its descent back towards the Langdale Valley. This section is approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) and can be quite rocky, so watch your footing. As you descend, you'll pass through lush green meadows and cross several small streams. The final stretch of the trail brings you back to the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, completing the loop.
