Starting from the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, the trail begins with a steady ascent towards Rossett Pike. The initial climb is gradual but becomes steeper as you approach Rossett Gill. This section offers stunning views of the Langdale Pikes and the valley below. Keep an eye out for Herdwick sheep, a breed native to the Lake District, grazing along the hillsides.#### Rossett Pike At approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) into the hike, you'll reach Rossett Pike, standing at 651 meters (2,136 feet). It's a great spot for a short break and some photography.#### Angle Tarn Continuing from Rossett Pike, the trail descends slightly before leading you to Angle Tarn, around 6 km (3.7 miles) into the hike. The area around Angle Tarn is rich in flora, including heather and bilberry, which bloom beautifully in the summer months.#### Stake Pass After leaving Angle Tarn, the trail ascends again towards Stake Pass.
