Trail Overview
The loop begins near the Ballonzuil monument, the oldest aviation monument in the Netherlands, commemorating the 1871 landing of the French balloon "La Poste de Paris" during the Franco-Prussian War. Today, it features a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees, providing a serene environment for hikers.
Significant Landmarks

The forest's mix of pines, firs, and old beeches provides a rich habitat for these birds. Additionally, the area is known for its tranquility, making it an excellent spot for nature observation.
Navigation and Safety
The trail is well-marked with colored route indicators. For enhanced navigation, consider using the HiiKER app, which provides detailed maps and real-time location tracking. While the path is generally flat and easy to traverse, be mindful of occasional muddy sections, especially after rain.
