The forest is rich with native flora, including beech and oak trees, and you might spot wildlife such as deer and various bird species.
#### Forstturm Continuing on, you'll reach the Forstturm, a historic forest tower that stands as a testament to the region's forestry heritage. This point is about 6 km (3.7 miles) into the hike. The tower offers panoramic views of the surrounding Thuringian landscape. It's a great spot to take a break and enjoy the scenery. The elevation gain to this point is around 200 meters (656 feet).
#### Bismarckturm The trail then leads you towards the Bismarckturm, another significant landmark approximately 9 km (5.6 miles) into the hike. This tower was built in honor of Otto von Bismarck, the first Chancellor of the German Empire. The Bismarckturm offers another opportunity for breathtaking views and a glimpse into the historical significance of the area. The elevation gain here is around 100 meters (328 feet) from the Forstturm.
