Parking is available near the village center. If you prefer public transport, the nearest train station is Chippenham, about 4 miles (6.4 km) away. From Chippenham, you can take a bus or taxi to Lacock.### Trail Overview The trail begins in Lacock, a village renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture and its role as a filming location for various movies and TV shows, including "Harry Potter" and "Downton Abbey." As you start your hike, you'll pass by Lacock Abbey, a former nunnery founded in the early 13th century, now a National Trust property.### Key Sections and Landmarks#### Lacock to Reybridge The initial section of the trail takes you through the village streets, offering views of half-timbered houses and quaint shops. After about 1 km (0.6 miles), you'll reach the River Avon. Crossing the river at Reybridge, you'll find a picturesque stone bridge that dates back to the 14th century. This is a great spot for a brief rest and some photos.#### Reybridge to Bowden Hill Continuing from Reybridge, the trail meanders through open fields and woodlands. This section is relatively flat and easy-going, making it a pleasant walk. After approximately 3 km (1.9 miles), you'll start a gentle ascent towards Bowden Hill. The climb is gradual, gaining about 100 meters (328 feet) in elevation over the next 2 km (1.2 miles).#### Bowden Hill At the top of Bowden Hill, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
