Starting near South Gloucestershire, England, this 11 km (approximately 6.8 miles) loop trail offers a delightful mix of woodland, open fields, and panoramic views. With an elevation gain of around 300 meters (approximately 984 feet), the trail is rated as medium difficulty, making it suitable for moderately experienced hikers.
#### Pipley Wood Starting from the trailhead, you'll first enter Pipley Wood. This ancient woodland is home to a variety of native trees, including oak, ash, and beech. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species. The dense canopy provides a cool, shaded environment, making it a pleasant start to your hike.
#### Prospect Stile After exiting Pipley Wood, you'll ascend towards Prospect Stile. This section involves a moderate climb, gaining approximately 150 meters (492 feet) in elevation over 2 km (1.2 miles). At the top, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, including the city of Bath in the distance. This is an excellent spot for a short break and some photography.
#### Kelston Round Hill Continuing on, the trail leads you to Kelston Round Hill, another highlight of the loop. This hill offers a 360-degree panoramic view, including sights of the River Avon and the Cotswold Hills. The climb to the top is gradual but steady, adding another 100 meters (328 feet) in elevation over 1.5 km (0.9 miles). The summit is marked by a trig point, and on clear days, you can see as far as the Mendip Hills.
