#### Cunnery Wood Approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll enter Cunnery Wood. This section is relatively flat, making it a good warm-up for the more challenging parts ahead. Keep an eye out for local wildlife such as deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species. The woodland floor is often carpeted with bluebells in the spring, creating a stunning visual treat.
#### Brighouse Canal Around the 5 km (3.1 miles) mark, the trail intersects with the Calder and Hebble Navigation, a historic canal system dating back to the 18th century. This section is particularly scenic, with narrowboats gently gliding along the water and old stone bridges adding a touch of historical charm. The canal towpath is a great place to take a short break and enjoy a snack.
