#### Lost Canyon The first part of your journey takes you through Lost Canyon, a serene and picturesque area filled with towering sandstone cliffs and lush vegetation. As you hike through this section, you'll encounter a variety of flora, including juniper trees and pinyon pines. Keep an eye out for mule deer and desert cottontails, which are commonly seen in this area. The trail here is relatively flat, making it a gentle introduction to the loop.
#### Big Spring Canyon After approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles), you'll reach the junction with Big Spring Canyon. This section involves a moderate climb, gaining about 300 meters (984 feet) in elevation. The views from the top are breathtaking, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding canyons and rock formations. This is a great spot to take a break and soak in the scenery.
#### Druid Arch Continuing on, you'll head towards the highlight of the trail: Druid Arch. The arch is located about 16 kilometers (10 miles) from the trailhead. The final approach to the arch involves a steep climb, but the effort is well worth it. Standing at over 45 meters (148 feet) tall, Druid Arch is a magnificent natural structure that resembles a giant stone cathedral. This area is also rich in historical significance, as it was once a sacred site for the Native American tribes who inhabited the region.
#### Chesler Park After visiting Druid Arch, the trail loops back through Chesler Park, a vast open area surrounded by towering rock spires known as "The Needles." This section is relatively flat and offers a stark contrast to the rugged terrain of the earlier parts of the trail. The park is a great place to spot wildlife, including lizards, snakes, and a variety of bird species.
