The South Wallowas Traverse is a 49.6 km trail that starts in Union, Oregon and ends in Halfway, Oregon. The trail is considered to be extra difficult to hike and has a total elevation gain of 3627m. Normally the trail takes 4 days to complete but can be finished in as little as 3 or 2 days. Dogs are welcome on the trail.
The warmest months are June, July, and August and the coldest months are December, January, and February. The wettest months are March, April, and May and the driest months are September, October, and November.
