Situated in the Nelson Lakes National Park, near Saint Arnaud in the Nelson/Tasman area, the Mount Robert Circuit starts from the Mount Robert Carpark and combines both the Pinchgut Track and Paddy’s Track. It is a 9 km, well marked, moderately trafficked track and is rated as Difficult. For information on how we grade trails, please click here

An alpine trail, the track attains a high elevation and is very exposed when above the tree line so proper outdoor gear and clothing is necessary. Accessible all year round, the trail is used primarily for hiking and bird watching and there are stunning views over Lake Rotoiti. Beautiful wild flowers are abundant in the spring and summer, the best time to attempt it, although there are often many wasps at this time of year so take antihistamine if required. This trail can be completed in approx 2 hrs 49 mins. Caution is advised on trail times as this depends on multiple variables. For more info, click here
There is a hut, Bushline Hut with 14 bunks, allocated on a first come basis, although a hut ticket is required if an overnight stay in the park is wanted. Please visit here
for more information. Dogs are not permitted in the park.
