The complete Urupukapuka Island Walk is designed to be walked in a clockwise direction, and the track can be joined from most of the larger bays on the Island. Following the outer edge of this beautiful island, it passes many archaeological features, giving an insite into life before the arrival of Europeans. Varied terrain, beaches, bush and cliff tops, this is an easy walk, suitable for older children (steep cliffs and drops). For information on how we grade trails, please click here. The circular trail is 7.3 km long and takes around five hours to complete, giving time to appreciate the scenery and inforrmation panels and features along its way. Dogs are not permitted.
