The America Bay Walking Track is a scenic 1 mi out-and-back trail that starts and ends from West Head Rd, in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, New South Wales. The trail is graded as Medium difficulty; although short, it consists of short steep hills and occasional steps but is a well-formed track and is clearly signposted. Park along the West Head Road for the America Bay Walking Track; the perfect spot for a picnic, it traces the ridgeline from West Head Road to America Bay close to the mouth of the Hawkesbury River before taking walkers down to a small creek, through forest and woodland. A stroll along the creek, through the native bush will lead you to the scenic viewpoint over Cowan Water. Beautiful year-round, the family-friendly Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park boasts stunning wildflowers and heathland in the spring, fantastic fishing and camping in the summer and whale watching in the winter. This trail can be completed in around 45 mins, but caution is advised on trail times as this depends on multiple variables. For more info, click here.
