A difficult trail, the Derrybawn Circular is a 17 km looped hike starting and ending in Brockagh ED, Ireland. The trail follows the beautiful Glendalough Valley, taking in the old minor road, the lower and upper lakes, and then up to the peak of Derrybawn (1555 ft) and has a total elevation gain of 2477 ft. Discover Ireland’s ‘Ancient East’ and ‘one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland’ with many landmarks to visit including Glendalough’s Round Tower, Cathedral and St Kevin’s Church. A popular spot at weekends, it is advised to arrive at the trailhead early, and dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
