An easy coastal 10km loop of the Maharees tombolo at the north of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. Start at Sandy Bay Beach, in either direction, as the trail follows the golden beaches and rocky shorelines of the surrounding bays of Tralee, Scraggane and Brandon with some road sections in between. The trail overlaps much of the longer Dingle Way and takes in 5 of the Peninsula’s 6 villages and its Blue Flag awarded beaches, popular for swimming and watersports year-round, with lifeguards during the summer months.
Dogs are discouraged or must be kept on a lead as the Maharees Peninsula is a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
