This circular trail of 105km meanders along the banks of the River Suck, passing through the counties of Roscommon and Galway. A must for nature enthusiasts, the bird life and flora are both rich in the valley, especially on the boglands and callows of the river. The route passes through what is known as the ‘nine friendly villages’ each with their own charm and history and accommodation is always easy to find. A moderate trail, it is mostly flat and takes around five days to hike it. The route often goes over private working farmland, so dogs are not permitted.
