Some lovely sections (and lovely people) but I got bored of forestry roads through plantations very quickly. Admittedly we had bad weather and bad visability during some of the known scenic sections. Not one of my favourite trails but I would love to revisit Ireland to do some hiking on the west coast.

Finally completed this trail with the gang on November 6th. We did it in 8 separate sections spread out over the year. Was a great way meet with the lads and get out and do a hard thing. Managed to get a few over night stays along the way as well including Glendalough Hotel and the Summerhill House Hotel. We started in Clonegal and finished in Marley Park. Thinking about doing it the other way around next!

Loved it. Finished it in 6 days. My wife and I had the most memorable time of our life on this journey https://indianshamrocks.travel.blog/2021/03/25/wicklow-way-trek-130-kms/

I've completed 7 of the 8 stages. Can't wait to get the last stage done.

It’s a beautiful way and I definitely recommend walking it as intended - north to south - simply because you’ll be more fresh and able to tackle the hills of the first three days. It’s also nice to finish off with some easier roads towards the end but that’s my own humble opinion. Two stars less because: You see deforestation on the trail every single day. It was not pretty and although I knew this, I did not expect this high amount of ugly plantations and “harvest”. Due to this, there were also a couple of diversions which lead you off the trail so it was a bit disappointing. Overall a superb hike with plenty of beautiful spots and villages.

Amazing experience! My friends and I thru-hiked the trail in 6 days. My only recommendation would be to hike south to north. For two reasons, the northern part of the trail has spectacular views and are a nice pick-me-up after a few days of being beaten up by the hike and because when you finish your in Dublin so it’s easier to get public transport to the city, airport, train stations etc.

I did this over 2 days for Charity. Dublin to Glenmalure, Glenmalure to Clonegal. Overall it's a great hike. Leaving Marley Park you are so quickly out of Dublin and out into Wicklow and great views. The last section into Clonegal is full of roads and a little boring.

Me and my Friends completed the Wicklow Way in 4 days for charity wild camping all way. This is an amazing trail with outstanding views and the Huts along the trail are a massive plus. Only negative for me is from Clonegal to Tinahely is manly road and not main views but after that it’s amazing. Glenmalure lodge is worth a stop along the way as the staff and food are lovely.

Absolutely stunning trail. Mountains, forests, fields and some very quiet country roads. Beautiful spots to camp along the way. Though it was a shame to see the Brushers gap hut was visited by a group who clearly had no notion of leave no trace principles. Apart from that pristine Irish countryside at its best.

Finally got to complete this trail. Overall it was amazing. Some long road sections but the epic views more than made up for it.

Hiked it southbound, twice with the kids. Nice easy trail, with a few too many road miles towards Clonegal.

Only got to do half the trail because of Lockdown. Heading back soon to finish. One of the best trails in Ireland.

Wife and I hiked here in August. Perfect weather. We stayed in B&B's along the way. Took 6 days to complete as we were carrying clothes, food, essentials etc. Totally recommended.

A very good trail though the Clonegal to Tinahely part was a bit too road heavy. There's three shelters for camping (all except the Mullacor Hut has a water butt for water supply). No shops to pass by for food supply so stack up well. Bring water purification tablets / water filter straw as well when planning to camp out. Make sure to bring extra plastic bags for your trash.

Walked the Wicklow Way from Dublin to Glendalough. Amazing and well marked trail with lots of nice spots to camp and lovely B&B’s to stay or get a coffee ;) In Glendalough there are several daytrips you can do (from easy to moderate) which are really nice to do in combination with the Wicklow Way!

Magnificent! I walked 3 stages from Marlay park. Day two was the best. Galeforce winds and showers at the summits, but hey, you take this route to be challenged, right? Made it until Glendalough. That was enough ;)

Walked from north to south. Was incredable! Day 1: Marlay park to Knockree, day 2: Knockree to Roundwood. Day 3: Roundwood to Glendalough. Day 4: Glendalough to Glenmalure and last day from Glenmalure to macreddin. Best 2 stages were the first 2 days!

Hiked from Crone Woods to the end of stage 5 on this map. Would highly recommend the alt routes up Djouce and Scarr. First night camping can be done at Lough Dan campsite and the second night was spent in Mullacor hut (a very basic bothy). There's not many ressuply points so pack what you need.
