Walk to Poolbeg Lighthouse on this moderate 10.8km loop walk. An active lighthouse established in 1786, it’s located at the mouth of the River Liffey, Dublin. Close to the city, there’s much to see as the trail passes through the Irishtown Nature Park, past beaches and onto ‘The Great South Wall’, and home of the iconic red Poolbeg Lighthouse, and a popular spot for bird-watching. A fairly exposed trail that’s known to be windy and wet, which can make it more challenging than expected. Mix up the route with other trails within the nature park.
Dogs are allowed but should be kept on a leash.
