Mostly really well defined trail. Great for those who really want to test themselves distance wise. Going from Tallaght to Shankill as the route direction leaves you with lovely views towards the end but also a decent pub (Brady’s) for some food.

Great trail so close to the city. A must for any Dublin based hikers getting into longer trails!

Completed the trail in one day, rained from start to finish but was still beautiful. Nice climbs and lovely views. Looking forward to doing it again in the opposite direction

Did in 1 day from Tallaght to Shankill in a shade under 10 hours. Signage coming out of Tallaght has been messed with so you'll need a map, otherwise its good. Overall the trail feels like they were just trying too hard to get to 42km/26miles. It goes away from areas with a good view on a lot of occasions especially around the leadmines area. There are also lot of road sections that become a grind. Plus sides are that it's well signposted and has a few places to stop on the exact route for a coffee or a pint, ZipIt in Tibradden and Johnnie Foxes.

I went the Tallaght - Shankhill route yesterday, took me 11 hours including some breaks and a stop off at Johnny Foxes for a pint. The last 3 hours were.. tough, lack of preparation I’d say but also an ‘uninspiring’ view the last bit.

Lots of very nice woods walking, with interesting sights along the way. Unfortunately the road sections just get a bit long at times. Completed in a single day.

did this over two days. it could be done in one. a lot of roads and some steep climbs/descents on tarmac which aren't great for the toes! the scenery is amazing though. bring bug spray!

I completed the trail from bohernabreena reservoir to Bray, it was a surprisingly nice trail with some stunning views over Dublin City and some great wooded areas! Climbs weren’t too difficult and terrain was all stable under foot!
