#### River Severn The trail begins by following the banks of the River Severn, the longest river in the United Kingdom. This section offers serene views of the water and opportunities to spot local wildlife such as swans, ducks, and kingfishers. The riverbanks are also lined with willow and alder trees, providing a picturesque start to your hike.
#### Stourport Basins Around 3 km (1.9 miles) into the hike, you will come across the Stourport Basins, a series of historic canal basins that date back to the 18th century. These basins were once bustling with trade and are now a tranquil spot to take a break and enjoy the scenery. Information boards provide historical context, detailing the importance of the basins in the development of the local area.
#### Burlish Top Nature Reserve Continuing on, the trail leads you to Burlish Top Nature Reserve, approximately 6 km (3.7 miles) from the start. The reserve also features remnants of World War II training grounds, adding a layer of historical intrigue to your hike.
