#### Houghton Wood Approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll enter Houghton Wood. This section is relatively flat and shaded, making it a pleasant walk even on warmer days. #### South Downs Way Around the 5 km (3.1 miles) mark, the trail intersects with the South Downs Way, a long-distance footpath that stretches across the South Downs National Park. Look out for the Slindon Folly, a historic structure built in the 18th century.
