#### Angmering Park Estate Around 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll enter the Angmering Park Estate, a privately-owned estate that offers public access to its beautiful woodlands and meadows. This area is rich in wildlife, so keep an eye out for deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species. The estate is also home to ancient oak trees, some of which are over 500 years old.
#### Fox Rough At approximately 5 km (3.1 miles), you'll reach Fox Rough, a notable high point on the trail. The elevation gain here is about 50 meters (164 feet), offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. This is a great spot for a short break and some photography.
#### Historical Significance The region around Angmering has a rich history dating back to the Roman era. As you hike, you'll come across remnants of ancient settlements and old farmsteads. One particularly interesting site is the remains of a Roman villa, located about 7 km (4.3 miles) into the trail. This site offers a glimpse into the area's historical significance and is worth a brief detour.
