I set out to hike this trail over 1.5 days with a wild camp. The trail could be started from a few different locations that offer free parking. I started from the reservoirs near Rivington. Apart from a small section, the majority of the trail is away from the road and the views were great. Good variation of terrain too. The trail doesn't pass any shops directly but you're never far away from a village. My only problem was that the best places to set up camp were too early in my walk so I carried on only to find the next best places to camp were near the end so I ended up hiking the whole trail in one day which is also manageable.
