This point-to-point trail is rated as medium difficulty, offering a blend of natural beauty and historical richness.Getting to the TrailheadThe journey begins near the charming village of Chilham, which is accessible by car or public transport. If you're driving, you can park in the village square or near Chilham Castle. For those preferring public transport, Chilham is served by trains and buses; the train station is a short walk from the trailhead.Historical SignificanceAs you set out, you'll be walking in the footsteps of pilgrims who have traveled these paths for centuries. The trail is part of the ancient Pilgrims' Way, leading to the historic city of Canterbury, a destination of pilgrimage due to its cathedral and the martyrdom of Thomas Becket in 1170.Navigating the TrailThe trail meanders through lush fields and woodlands, with the well-marked paths making navigation straightforward. Canterbury East Station offers regular train services, and the city is well-served by buses if you wish to explore further or return to your starting point.
