If driving, head towards Edale, a charming village in the Peak District, which serves as the starting point. For those using public transport, Edale is accessible via train from Manchester or Sheffield, with the Edale train station being a short walk from the trailhead.### Trail Overview The trail begins in Edale, where you can find parking and amenities. From here, you will start your ascent towards Grindslow Knoll. The initial climb is steep but rewarding, offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. As you reach the summit of Grindslow Knoll, at approximately 3 km (1.9 miles) into the hike, you'll be greeted with stunning vistas of the Edale Valley and the Great Ridge.### Kinder Low Continuing from Grindslow Knoll, the trail leads you towards Kinder Low, the highest point of the hike. This section is around 5 km (3.1 miles) from the start and involves a gradual ascent. Kinder Low stands at an elevation of 633 meters (2,077 feet) and is part of the Kinder Scout plateau, known for its rugged terrain and unique rock formations. This area is also historically significant as it was the site of the 1932 Mass Trespass, a pivotal event in the campaign for public access to the countryside in England.### Upper Booth After enjoying the views from Kinder Low, the trail descends towards Upper Booth.
