As you make your way through the forest, keep an eye out for local wildlife such as red squirrels and various bird species. The trail here is well-marked and relatively easy to follow.### Whiteside AscentAfter exiting High Wood, the trail starts to climb more steeply towards Whiteside. This section is approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) into the hike and involves a significant elevation gain. The path can be rocky and uneven, so sturdy hiking boots are recommended. As you ascend, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding fells and valleys.### Sand Hill and GrasmoorContinuing from Whiteside, the trail leads you to Sand Hill and then onto Grasmoor, the highest point of the loop at 852 meters (2795 feet).
