The Friendly Beaches Trail is a 4 mi out-and-back beach trail that starts and ends at the Friendly Beaches Car Park in the Friendly Beaches Reserve, Tasmania. A picture-perfect beach walk and the chance for a swim; there is an entry fee for the Friendly Beaches Reserve which forms part of the Freycinet National Park, a popular spot for fishing and surfing. Considered an Easy trail that can be completed in 1 – 2 hours, it takes walkers along the breath-taking white sands and turquoise waters of Friendly Beaches; a walk that can be shortened to suit the ability or fitness of any walker, making it a family-friendly option for visitors to the region. (For information on how we grade trails, please click here, and caution is advised on trail times as this depends on multiple variables. For more info, click here.) It’s an exposed beach walk so be sure to take plenty of water and sun protection. There are basic toilets near the car park and for those wanting to stay longer, the Friendly Beaches Campground. Food and water can be found in the nearby town of Coles Bay approximately 24 kilometres away. Dogs are not allowed in the reserves or national parks of Tasmania. Photo Credit :JJ Harrison
