Ben Nevis - Castle Ridge Loop's difficulty-level is 'Medium' that combines hiking and climbing. The ascent of 1150 meters begins from 5.6km and continues on to 6.8km The Castle Ridge is the earliest of the Ven’s winter ridges, graded lll in the winter season. Snow falls here in any season and snowy plods up the tourist track shouldn’t be underestimated. The steep mixed pitches are short lived and difficulty is not sustained throughout. There is avalanche danger on the approach slopes.
