Starting Point to Warrah Lookout
The trail kicks off with a steep climb out of Patonga, offering early views of the surrounding waterways. Within the first 5 kilometers (3.1 miles), hikers reach Warrah Lookout, providing panoramic vistas of Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury River. This section includes a mix of bushland and rocky outcrops, with the trail well-marked and maintained.
Warrah Lookout to Mooney Mooney Creek

Mooney Mooney Creek to Somersby

The trail culminates at the small community of Somersby, roughly 13 kilometers (8 miles) from the Mooney Mooney Creek area. Here, hikers can arrange for pick-up or transfer to Gosford station, about 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away, to complete their journey.
