Offering a beautifully varied landscape throughout, the Sandy Creek Loop Track, in the Bournda National Park, is a 4 mi circuit trail that starts and ends at Bournda Lagoon Rd, New South Wales, where parking is available along the road. A hidden gem, the Bournda National Park is a must-visit spot for all, whether your passion is birdwatching, fishing, walking, kayaking or sea swimming. This breathtaking coastal park offers seclusion, tranquillity and space to roam free. Look out for sea eagles soaring on the coast, yellow-tailed black cockatoos in the forests and kangaroos and swamp wallabies along the way. Considered to be a Medium difficulty walking route, it’s well-signposted but the track is rough with some obstacles, including a creek crossing on this varied and nature-rich trail. Usually walked in around 2 – 3 hours, this hiking route meanders through an array of native bush and wild habitats, the landscape changing constantly, from sclerophyll and she-oak forests to sections of rainforest and then beautiful stretches of sandy beach.
