#### Madenburg Castle One of the most significant landmarks on this trail is the Madenburg Castle. Situated about 2 km (1.2 miles) from the start, this medieval fortress offers panoramic views of the surrounding Palatinate Forest and the Rhine Valley. The castle dates back to the 11th century and is one of the largest and oldest castle ruins in the region. Take some time to explore the ruins and imagine the historical events that took place here.
#### Pfalz-Lamas Around the halfway point of the loop, approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) in, you'll encounter the Pfalz-Lamas, a unique llama farm.
