Trail Highlights and Landmarks

As you embark on this loop, you'll first encounter the Uwe Dune, the highest point on the island of Sylt, standing at 52.5 meters (172 feet) above sea level. Despite the trail's overall flatness, the dune offers a gentle ascent and provides panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Wadden Sea and the North Sea. The dune is named after Uwe Jens Lornsen, a 19th-century lawyer and freedom fighter, adding a touch of historical significance to your hike.

Continuing along the trail, you'll traverse through the Kampen Heath, a unique landscape characterized by its sandy soil and heath vegetation.
