#### Natural Beauty The trail meanders through a mix of open grassland and wooded areas, providing a diverse range of flora and fauna. In the spring and summer months, the grasslands are adorned with wildflowers, attracting a variety of butterflies and bees. Keep an eye out for the rare Adonis Blue butterfly, which is known to inhabit this area.
#### Key Landmarks - Cissbury Ring Summit: Approximately 1.5 km (0.93 miles) into the hike, you'll reach the summit of Cissbury Ring. At an elevation of 183 meters (600 feet), this point offers panoramic views of the South Downs and the English Channel on a clear day. - Ancient Flint Mines: Near the summit, you'll find the remains of Neolithic flint mines, some of the oldest in Britain. These mines date back to around 4000 BC and were used for thousands of years. - Woodland Section: As you descend from the summit, the trail takes you through a serene woodland area.
