#### Beccles Marshes About 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike, you'll come across the Beccles Marshes. This area is a haven for birdwatchers, with numerous species of wading birds and waterfowl. The marshes are also historically significant, having been used for grazing and agriculture for centuries.
#### Geldeston Locks At approximately the 6 km (3.7 miles) mark, you'll reach Geldeston Locks, a historic site where the River Waveney was once controlled for navigation and milling purposes. The locks are no longer in operation, but the area retains a rustic charm, with old lock-keeper's cottages and remnants of the lock mechanisms. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy a picnic.
