As you climb, the terrain becomes rockier, and you’ll encounter the first significant landmark, Birkhouse Moor, approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) into the hike. This section gains about 300 meters (984 feet) in elevation.### Striding Edge and Helvellyn Summit Continuing onward, you’ll reach the famous Striding Edge, a narrow ridge that requires careful navigation.
