Mount Barney National Park is located in Queensland, Australia, approximately 100 kilometers southwest of Brisbane. Nearby cities and towns include Ipswich, Boonah, and Beaudesert. The park was established in 1974 and has a rich history of Aboriginal connection to the land. The traditional owners of the area are the Yugambeh people, who have lived there for thousands of years. The park offers ample parking facilities, with multiple parking areas located throughout the park. There are no specific rules or fees associated with parking. The park is home to a diverse range of native wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, wombats, and various bird species. Visitors may also encounter unique animals like the spotted quoll and the yellow-bellied glider.   The native flora of Mount Barney National Park is equally impressive, featuring a variety of plant species adapted to the region's diverse habitats. Common plants include eucalyptus, acacia, and rainforest trees. The park also boasts unique vegetation, such as the rare Mount Barney ash and the endangered rock fern. Notable features within the park include Mount Barney itself, the highest peak in the Scenic Rim region, as well as the Little Nerang Dam and the Green Mountains. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, camping, and picnicking in the park. Public transport is available to reach the park, with bus services connecting Brisbane to Boonah and Beaudesert.
